Welcome to the Writing Center

Do you need help with

  • Writing an essay for class?
  • Finding sources for a research project?
  • Using APA or MLA citation styles?
  • Creating a cover letter or resume?

You're in the right place!  You can use this site to get help right away with writing or to arrange an appointment to visit the Writing Center.  You can also find links to online resources that will help you improve your writing.  Writing Center services are free of charge to the Trinity community.

The Trinity Writing Center is located in the Academic Services Center at the Library.  Check our schedule to see when you can visit this week.  Email for more information, or fill out our online form to request an appointment.

Writing Center conferences last between 30 and 50 minutes and focus on your needs as a writer.  The Writing Center is not a proofreading service, and we will not write your essays for you, but we can help you with all kinds of writing, at any stage in the writing process.  We can also help with resumes, cover letters and application essays.  Be sure to check our list of things to bring to your appointment.

Did you know you can find writing assistance online, day or night?  If you have specific questions about source citation, document formatting or similar issues, try Purdue's Online Writing Lab.  It offers information free of charge on a wide range of topics related to writing.  Click on the link in this paragraph and use the menu on the right side of the OWL's page to navigate Purdue's site.

Trinity students can also request a free account with Smarthinking, an online tutoring service that provides assistance with many subjects, including writing, 24 hours a day.  Click here for more information about getting your Smarthinking account.  If you already have a Smarthinking account and need to log in, click here.
